Root Healing

Your Symptoms Are Messages, Not Malfunctions

Silence the messenger and the message simply finds a louder voice.

The modern instinct is to treat a symptom like an error – something to switch off as quickly as possible. But symptoms are rarely malfunctions. More often they are the most honest communication a system has left available to it.

The messenger and the message

Anxiety, insomnia, chronic tension, the same relationship ending in the same way – these are messengers. If you silence the messenger without receiving the message, the message does not disappear. It simply finds a louder, and usually more expensive, voice. What begins as unease becomes a pattern; what is ignored as a pattern often becomes physical.

A symptom is a system doing its best to protect you with the only vocabulary it has.

Reading instead of suppressing

To read a symptom is to ask a different question. Not “how do I make this stop?” but “what is this for, and what does it need?” Almost always, underneath, there is something being guarded, grieved, or remembered. When that is finally met, the symptom has no further reason to shout.

This is not blame

Reading a symptom symbolically is never about blaming yourself for having it. It is the opposite – it restores dignity to a body and a psyche that have been trying, faithfully and often for years, to keep you safe. Healing at the root begins the moment the message is finally allowed to land.

If this resonated, the work itself goes far deeper than words on a page. You can book a clarity conversation or explore the  modalities whenever you feel ready.
